Hello, I’m Caroline. Thank you for visiting my website.
I have been a leader in creating well-being programs that have positively helped hundreds of people to live better lives. Now I’ve decided to start my own practice, called Bluespace.
Bluespace for two reasons - firstly because water is my natural environment and it is scientifically proven that being in or near blue spaces boosts your emotional wellbeing, and secondly because blue defines our boundaries as people whether sea or sky, desolate or joyful.
So I am a dual trained professional in supporting adults - a qualified counsellor and a skilled coach, able to bring both psychological depth and practical strategies through structured support. My specialisms are firstly helping people through bereavement, grief or loss. Secondly, through a therapeutic coaching approach, I support people who are ready to grow personally if only they could address emotional obstacles.
Previously, I’ve been chair of Cruse Bereavement Care Morgannwg and have provided counselling to many people whose lives have been impacted by bereavement, personal loss, or the impact of cancer either personally or on family members. Also, an experienced senior HR professional, I’m CIPD qualified.
I have always had a keen interest in people and their stories and am naturally supportive and caring with a calming presence.
Bereavement counselling is a specialised form of therapy designed to help you cope with the emotional pain and challenges that arise after the loss of a loved one. It provides a safe and supportive environment for you to express your feelings and navigate the complex emotions associated with grief.
It would be a privilege to work alongside you at what is often described as one of the most painful times in life - the loss of a loved one. Grief is a normal reaction to loss but can be overwhelming. It is a very personal experience and unique to you. There is no right way to grieve. Grief has a purpose, allowing you to come to terms with your loss and work out how to move forward in life - I can help you through this by providing a safe environment and emotional support for you to learn how to live with your loss and grow around it, to discover a new meaning to your life.
Therapeutic coaching is a hybrid approach that combines elements of traditional coaching with therapeutic techniques. It aims to support you in overcoming personal challenges, achieving growth, and enhancing your overall well-being. The merging of coaching's goal-oriented focus with the healing aspects of therapy allows for a comprehensive approach to personal development. You are encouraged to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours to facilitate change with the relationship between us being collaborative, fostering a safe environment for exploration and growth.
Therapeutic coaching is particularly beneficial for individuals seeking to navigate complex life situations, improve their mental health and address any emotional roadblocks preventing progress, or achieve specific personal goals, for meaningful and lasting transformation in their lives.
Counselling is a talking therapy aimed at helping you explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in a safe environment, empowering you to find your own solutions – fostering personal growth and emotional healing.
My approach to counselling is “person centred” and the belief is that given the right conditions, you can reach your full potential and become your true self (self-actualisation). To help you achieve this I will accept and value you (no judgement), I will be honest and genuine with you, and I will be empathetic.
Sessions will be led by you and not directed by me.
My main specialism is helping people through bereavement, grief, or loss.
Through therapeutic coaching and counselling I can help with a wider range of issues including:
Anxiety
Stress/burnout
Panic attacks
Work Life Balance
Feeling low/depression
Problems with confidence or self-esteem
Loneliness
Life transitions
Personal development
Health and wellbeing
For face-to-face individual sessions, I have a room at the Life Therapy Centre in the middle of Swansea and see clients from Swansea and the surrounding areas here. I can provide location details when we arrange our sessions.
I am also able to offer sessions in the form of a “walk & talk” around the beautiful coastline of the Gower peninsular.
In addition to providing face-to-face, I also offer telephone and online sessions for clients across southwest Wales and further afield, via Zoom. Please get in touch if you want to know more about how online sessions work.
An initial introductory call on the telephone lasts around 30 minutes and is free of charge.
Following our decision to work together, our sessions will be either face to face or on a digital platform, on a weekly basis progressing to fortnightly, and will last for 60 minutes, at a cost of £60 per session.
Note that if you need to cancel an appointment 48 hours’ notice is required; otherwise you will still be charged. I accept payment in cash, by cheque or by bank transfer - whatever is most convenient for you.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how my services work, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of seeking my support.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
